Five Habits for 10X Fulfillment on the Path to Awakening

I Can See Clearly Now: Reflecting on the Past 10 Years

Here I am, 10 years into my journey.

I’m far from perfect, as I am human too.

What I can say is —

I’ve discovered life in a new light — a brighter light

where “I can see clearly” (theme song linked below)

I still have bad days, so don’t be disillusioned. Bad days happen less often. I’m more awake, more aware, taking responsibility, and choosing how to respond- especially in challenging situations.

Awareness is essential for any change, and it is built over time, just like our automatic program of limiting beliefs and reactive patterns was built over a lifetime — or lifetimes, for that matter.

Taking responsibility means choosing to think differently, to believe differently, and to unlearn your programming.

This program may have kept us safe and in our comfort zone, but it didn’t fulfill the deeper part of us.

Reading Words of Enlightenment

The first step in my journey was reading spiritual texts. These readings opened my mind and helped me realize that the life I was living wasn’t truly my own. I was living a programmed life rooted in limiting beliefs and fear, not aligned with the truth. This understanding revealed why I wasn’t fulfilled, no matter how many achievements I had made.

Letting Go and Practicing Forgiveness

“Holding on to anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.” Buddha

Letting go is essential; it allowed me to release the tension I was holding onto. Resentment kills you slowly, making you miserable and affecting both mental and physical well-being. I can personally attest to this, having experienced a full week of immobility due to an abscess in my body. After numerous visits to different doctors, it eventually dissolved — I like to think it was magic. (Side note: my first meditation was in the MRI machine.)
