Creative Fulfillment: Beyond the Influence of Money, Metrics & Validation
Can we please remove the word MONEY from the search results?
Yes, money helps pay the bills and maintain a comfortable living.
But, if it’s all about the money and tailoring our efforts to achieve a specific result using a set formula that alters the original, doesn’t the essence of the creation get lost in translation?
When an artist or designer creates with a focus on making money, they often lose their unique style that attracted them to creating in the first place. Same goes for a writer — if they’re just chasing trends instead of telling authentic stories, their work will lack the depth and originality that has the power to move people.
Creating from an inauthentic place, focused solely on outcomes such as ‘likes,’ ‘claps,’ follows, leads, or sales lacks fulfillment, drains your energy, and kills your creativity.
Moreover, operating from this “needy” mindset is imbued with the energy of lack, which can influence the experiences you attract into your life.
Trust Your Creative Instincts
We often think there’s some secret sauce behind what everyone else is doing, which can make us doubt ourselves and try to copy others instead of trusting our creativity and instincts.
Creative fulfillment comes from being true to ourselves and finding our own way, not following what’s already out there.
Everyone rushes to join once a trend becomes popular, but anything done repeatedly and excessively eventually loses its appeal.
From Innovation to Imitation
Think about when something new is created — it takes off with innovators and early adopters because it’s fresh and exciting. But once everyone catches on, you start seeing copycats everywhere. By then, it’s not as appealing anymore. It too fades as the next big thing comes along.
Similarly, the tactics for gaining likes, clicks, follows, and sales may work in the short term, but they too will fizzle out. Algorithms that everyone rushes to exploit will inevitably be replaced. Also-
When you define “success” solely by other people’s approval and financial gain, the joy of genuine self-expression and creativity often takes a hit.
It can lead to burnout and distance you from your true self, adding another layer that masks your authenticity and truth.
The Energy of Money: Two sides of the same coin
Money is a beautiful energy that not only brings peace of mind but also opens doors for doing good deeds, supporting philanthropy, promoting environmental causes, and fulfilling social responsibilities in the physical world.
