I grew up accepting everything my parents believed. Naturally, that’s the case for most of us. However, there were moments when I questioned what I was told and the perceptions and fears I inherited. When this happened, I felt confused, conflicted, and fearful. I dreaded that something bad would happen; something would surely go wrong if I ignored “the way I should be” and “the way things are.”
