A poem about the journey
We grow —
like seeds cultivated in darkness,
we grow,
pushing through to the surface.
We grow —
amidst the struggle,
we push, we pull, we emerge upright.
We grow —
nourished by sun and rain;
shaped by joy and hardship,
and still, we grow.
One day, our roots no longer absorb
the earth’s nourishment;
we lack the strength to stand upright,
we shrivel, returning to the soil.
But in our place, new seeds are planted,
our essence within them remains.
And so,
we return to the earth,
and we grow.
